Carmen A. Bissing currently serves as a Talent Acquisition Partner within the Talent Acquisition team of which she’s been a part of since December of 2022. In her current role, Carmen helps to support high-volume recruitment efforts across the UC Davis campus, specializing in Research & Laboratory and Clinical Laboratory roles, including Animal Health Technicians, Lab Assistants, and Veterinarians.

Previously at UC Davis, she worked as an Employment Representative/Recruiter for the Temporary Employment Services (TES) department. In TES, she managed temporary staffing needs and full-cycle recruitment efforts for positions that were needed across both UC Davis campus and UCD Health. 

Prior to joining UC Davis, Carmen came from approximately 4+ years of experience of working for the Yolo County Office of Education (YCOE). During her employment at YCOE, she worked in a few departments, two of which were the Teaching and Instruction Department and the Special Education Department. In her role within those two departments, she was considered a classified employee and volunteered to be a member of the local California School Employees Association (CSEA), union chapters’ Executive Board. During her time on the Executive Board, she spent time serving as a communications officer, then moved onto being the secretary and in 2019, also received training to be one of the Union Stewards. 

It was during her time at YCOE, where the responsibilities and experience of her last position, within the Human Resources Department, that Carmen discovered, human resources and recruitment - were her true calling.

Carmen prides herself on 7 years of career experience in Education, all within job roles in Yolo County - of which she is native to! Her CliftonStrengths are achiever, relator, responsibility, intellection and individualization. She is passionate about building strong, healthy work partnerships, and is eager to continue to support departments across campus with all their recruitment needs! 

Outside of work, Carmen loves to spend time with her husband, child and loved ones. She enjoys activities such as cooking, baking, hiking, listening to music or podcasts and traveling whenever possible.
