Performance Appraisals Suspended for Non-Represented Staff

The annual performance appraisal process for non-represented staff has been suspended until Fall 2020. Performance appraisal timelines for most bargaining groups have also been extended, though not suspended.

Please Read UC President Janet Napolitano’s Apr. 8 Announcement (.pdf)
President Napolitano’s message clarifies that performance appraisals for non-represented staff are no longer due to be completed in UCPath ePerformance by Friday, June 12, 2020.

Performance management is a year-long responsibility and supervisors have always been encouraged to meet quarterly with employees to review goals and progress. Since performance appraisals are a critical tool for feedback and professional development, we still encourage supervisors to continue helping employees establish and prioritize goals for the upcoming year.

Many employees and their supervisors have already begun and completed their self-evaluations and appraisals. We applaud your commitment to this process and encourage supervisors to continue the appraisal process if that’s possible.

Pay for Performance

Since the annual Pay for Performance merit program is also tied to annual performance appraisals, decisions about compensation and merit increases are also postponed pending further guidance from the UC Office of the President and clarity about UC’s financial situation.

ePerformance Webinar Today (Apr. 9) @ 9 a.m. - Register via Zoom

This webinar was scheduled before President Napolitano’s announcement and will continue as planned, and will address annual employee performance appraisals and the roles of employees and supervisors.

We appreciate the important role supervisors have in managing performance across UC Davis and the contributions you and your staff continue to make every day.
