Mandatory Training: UC Ethics and Compliance Briefing

The University of California is launching an updated ethics training for all employees as part of its continued commitment to integrity, compliance and accountability across the UC system.

The UC Ethics and Compliance Briefing (ECB) is a mandatory training that all employees must complete every two years.  

Please remind your team members to complete the training by their assigned deadline. 

Key Details
  • Release date: Oct. 15
  • Length: Approx. 30 minutes, plus four optional mini-modules (UC governance, accessibility, the Disqualification Rule, and supervisor responsibilities under whistleblower policies)
  • Languages: Available in English, Spanish and Tagalog
  • Frequency: Required every two years 
Audience and Deadline
  • Employees not current on training: Will receive a training assignment email on Oct. 15 with a deadline of Dec. 15. Supervisors will receive the same notification.
  • Employees current on training (completed within the last two years): No action required until their renewal date.
  • New employees: Must complete the training within 60 days of assignment.

Compliance Reminder

Employees assigned the training on Oct. 15 must complete it by Dec. 15 to avoid being listed on non-compliance reports shared with UC Davis leadership in January.
