Position Title
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Academic & Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) UCDH Counselor
How I Work with Staff and Faculty
Counseling with me is relational, collaborative and authentic. My work considers how culture, family roles, and past traumas may be impacting current life. This informs practical interventions that will create sustainable change. Sometimes the counseling is gentle and sometimes I challenge unhealthy thought patterns; the style is determined by the client’s needs, client-based goals, presenting problem, and evidence-based practices. I bring clarity by asking questions for consideration ultimately assisting them to find their truth and authentic self. I have a relaxed informal style that tends to work well for most, especially for those new to counseling. I have a special interest in bicultural and/or immigrant issues, grief/loss, couples counseling and life transitions.
Personal Interests
I enjoy weekend getaways, international travel and spending quality time with my dogs/family/friends. My interests include but not limited to hiking/camping, musicals, live comedy shows, movies, concerts and cultural festivals. I try to incorporate adventure and fun as much as possible which includes any excuse to be in the spirit of a holiday or themed gathering.
