Alexa Rubio is the Closeout Analyst in the Sponsored Programs unit of the Office of Research at the University of California, Davis. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies—Biological Sciences, and has been with the Office of Research since January of 2017.  Prior to her position with Sponsored Programs, Alexa worked in the Business & Finance unit of the Office of Research as a Financial Analyst.  As Closeout Analyst for UC Davis, she facilitates closure of all extramural UC Davis research awards.  Working with sponsors, principal investigators and departmental support staff to ensure all applicable administrative actions and all required work associated with an award have been completed and submitted per the award contract.  She manages, in real time, a comprehensive inventory of UC Davis’ closeout obligations tied to awards valued annually at approximately $700 million.
