Take our children to work program is all about giving our children a glimpse into the exciting world of work, where they can see firsthand what we do every day and explore new ideas about their own future careers. Let’s make this a fun and inspiring day for everyone. Take Our Children to Work Day is an annual national celebration on the 4th Thursday of April of employers hosting children at their workplace. Our celebration is designed to be more than a career day, we like to think of it as a family-oriented “mini–Picnic Day."

There are two components of the day, OPEN HOUSE activities, and LOTTERY REQUEST activities. Families are welcome to come during the posted hours for an OPEN HOUSE event unless a specific meet time is noted in the description. Lottery events are space-limited activities, so we must control attendance by processing a blind lottery. Please read through all activity descriptions for all age restrictions.

General Registration is now open. 
If you submitted a request for a lottery activity, you will receive an email on Thursday, April 17th whether or not your entry was selected. Please check your junk or spam folders if you don't locate the email in your inbox. If you indicated you wanted to be a part of a second chance lottery, the link will be included in that email and you will have until noon on Friday, April 18th to reply. The second chance lottery will be completed and announced by end of business on Friday.

NEW FOR 2025: We have setup a special events parking option. 

• Use the "Parking" button below to navigate to https://ucdavis.aimsparking.com any time from today through the event date, and click on SPECIAL EVENT PARKING
• Click GROUP / DEPARTMENTAL EVENTS and select “Take Our Children to Work 2025”
• Select the permit for $4.50, ADD the vehicle it will be assigned to, and click to agree to the Terms of Service
• Checkout when ready, and watch for a confirmation email which will be sent within a few minutes of completing the transaction 
• There is no need to print or display anything in the vehicle.  Pre-purchased permits are valid in C zone areas across campus, for the full date purchased.  If you have any questions or issues regarding the

• Then use the "Map" button below, which is linked to the official Campus Maps to plan parking ahead of time. Be sure to select the "Transportation & Parking" and then select the "Visitor and C-Permit Parking" button to see eligible parking lots.
