The Duration Indicator field indicates the expected duration of the appointment to which it is assigned.
This code is used only if a qualifying condition exists and is entered on the Appointment Line of the EAPP screen and is viewed on the IAPP or IAPT screen.

B | For budgetary purposes | Where appointment end date is due to a funding restriction, and the intent of the position is to be 12 months or more in length and at 50% time or more once additional funding becomes available.

V | For visa purposes only | Where appointment end date is due to a work permit end date, and the intent of the position is to be 12 months or more in length and at 50% time or more once the work permit is extended.

Preparer Tip:
When using either of the above Duration Indicator codes, your employee's BELI code will be based on the assumption that the appointment will be 50% or more and 12 months or more in length.
- If the employee's title code is eligible for UCRP membership, assign BELI 1
- If the employee's title code is excluded from UCRP membership, assign BELI 2 (i.e. Visiting and Regent's Titles)
