Activity

Mindfulness

  • Share an electronic agenda prior to the meeting.
  • During the first couple of minutes of the meeting invite participants to take a deep breath, lower their gaze and be silent. Schedule this in! Simply inhale for four seconds, hold it for seven seconds, and exhale for eight seconds.
  • Establish group norms to help attendees have clear expectations about how to engage in discussions.
  • Take a few moments to allow individuals to check-in by introducing questions such as, how are you?

Sustainability

  • Distribute all meeting materials electronically.
  • If you must provide handouts, use double-sided printing.
  • Use re-usable name tag holders and recycled paper.
  • If disposable is the only option for food service, make sure they are compostable and you've ordered collection bins.
