Career Counseling

As part of the university's commitment to support employees in their professional development and career management efforts, career counseling and coaching services have expanded. A range of career counseling and coaching services are available including:

  • Exploration of your career options and goals
  • Discussion of where you want to be in your work/life
  • Goal setting and action planning
  • Interview coaching
  • Resume writing assistance
  • Review of application materials
  • Job search coaching
  • Help with development of your individual development plan (IDP)

Career counselors are available for confidential, one-on-one counseling and coaching appointments. To schedule an appointment, call Staff Development & Professional Services at 530-752-1766.

Note: UC Davis staff are entitled to two one-hour individual appointments per fiscal year.

Staff Development and Professional Services offers a resource library of books and videos (available for checkout) on career interests and skills assessment, job search information, resume preparation, interviewing skills and alternative career options.
