Monthly Working Hours table was moved from PPSM 31 Exhibit A to the HR website to facilitate annual updates and contribute to the goals of the NBA.

This page lists University holidays and working hours in Table 1 and leave accrual rates in Table 2. To view the UC Davis academic calendar, please click here. For the complete calendars, refer to UC Davis Policy & Procedure Manual Section 200-05.

Table 1: Holidays and Hours of Work

How to Use Table 1: Assume a full-time employee is hired on May 15, 2010. The employee earns sick leave for the month of May because May 15 is before the midpoint of the month (May 16 at 8:00 am), so he or she worked more than one half the working hours in the month.

The amount of sick leave is calculated as 13 days X 8 hours = 104 hours

104 hours x .046154 (factor from Table 2 below) = 4.8 hours of sick leave.

Table 2: Leave Accrual Rates
This table shows the rates at which an employee earns vacation and sick leave. A full-time employee who is paid monthly earns the amount shown under the number of working hours in the month (which is determined in Table 1 above). A full-time employee who is paid bi-weekly earns the amount shown under the number 160 /QW. A part-time employee earns the hourly accrual for each hour on pay status.

Monthly Accrual = Working Hours in Month x Hourly Factor
