Andrea Gaytan possesses over 15 years of advising and advocacy experience working with underrepresented and under-served student populations. She has worked on the UC Davis campus since 2009 and uses a cross-cultural and social justice lens to critically engage in her work. Andrea has previously worked in her hometown of El Monte with recently arrived immigrant youth in the public school system, advocating for their educational needs as well as assisting with their identity development and empowerment. In addition, she has worked in Santa Fe, New Mexico with adult immigrants. She has lived in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico where she was an English Professor. Andrea is also the proud mother to two children.
