This course will explore the importance of understanding the diversity within our student population, the characteristics of a multicultural institution and the role of cross-cultural communication in working with and advising an increasingly diverse student body.
Course Description
Objectives of this course include building skills and competencies to effectively communicate in intercultural interactions. This course includes case studies in the areas of student advising and working with international students. Participants will gain a greater awareness of working with diverse student groups and explore the supporting policies and practices as well as discover new tools for creating a more welcoming and inclusive environment.
